CLPI achieves it mission by partnering with key organizations within the nonprofit sector to make advocacy an ordinary, not extraordinary, part of building nonprofit capacity and impact. In promoting nonprofit advocacy, CLPI works with partners such as Independent Sector, the National Council of Nonprofit Associations, Council on Foundations, the Funders Committee on Civic Participation, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, BoardSource, the Aspen Institute, the Urban Institute, the Foundation Center, Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Civil Society Studies and others to reach and influence leaders in the sector.
For training and technical assistance for nonprofits, CLPI partners with national organizations that have affiliated charitable organizations at the state and local level. CLPI seeks to increase the knowledge, skills and motivation of state and local nonprofits to increase civic engagement, organizational capacity, and impact at all levels of government. Such partners have included United Way of America, Lutheran Services in America, Alliance for Children & Families, Business and Professional Women’s Foundation, Americans for the Arts, and the National Council of Nonprofits.
Below are two documents that detail some of the possibilities for CLPI partners.
